Police have arrested a man in connection with a stabbing in Leigh-on-Sea

Police have arrested a man believed to be linked to a violent attack on Rayleigh Road yesterday.

Officers were called at 4.30pm yesterday afternoon (Saturday October 5) to reports that a man in his 20s had been found with stab wounds in Rayleigh Road.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment.

Fortunately, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “It was reported that the victim was chased by a group of four men who got out of two vehicles, one of which is described as a red 4×4.”

“A 22-year-old man from Great Wakering was arrested yesterday on suspicion of GBH with intent.

“He is currently in custody.

“Our investigation continues and if you have any information, CCTV, dashcam or other footage relating to this incident, please contact us – please quote incident 801 of October 5.”
