Andrew Garfield uses his British accent in “We Live in Time”

Andrew Garfield has been acting professionally on screen for almost two decades, but it's not often that he gets to use his native accent.

In a TikTok video for Garfield's new film recently uploaded to the official account We live in timeBoth he and co-star Florence Pugh admitted that they rarely appear off-camera with the natural English accents they usually speak.

“This is my second film doing my own voice, but it's been a long time,” Pugh, 28, said in the video in response to a user who noted both stars' natural voices in the film.

“In fact, when I speak in interviews with my accent, many people think that I'm lying and using a fake accent,” Pugh continued. “And that’s the truth.”

“How about you? “How about this?” she asked 41-year-old Garfield, who took a moment to consider the question before agreeing.

“I think it's maybe the first time that I mean – yes, yes, that's right, I think that's true, yes, yes, yes,” he said.

Garfield has dual British and American citizenship. Born in Los Angeles to an American father and a British mother; At the age of three he began living in Surrey, England esquire reported on the actor in a recent profile. In We live in timeGarfield and Pugh portray the couple Tobias and Almut, who meet by chance when Almut accidentally hits Tobias with her car. From then on, a romance blossoms, and the film follows their relationship over several years.
