Two were arrested in connection with a burglary in Hartselle and the third suspect is at large

HARTSELLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Two suspects have been arrested as police continue to search for the third suspect in connection with a burglary in Hartselle.

According to Lt. According to Alan McDearmond of the Hartselle Police Department, officers originally responded to a burglary call on August 19, 2024, and following an investigation, three suspects were identified. Two of the three suspects were arrested.

Police said the suspects were identified as Dakota James Ballenger, 26, of Somerville, William Kenneth Hodges, 35, of Somerville and Justin Scott Hardaway, 40, of Athens, after evidence linked them to the August incident.

Ballenger was arrested on October 1st and Hodges on October 2nd. Both were charged with burglary.

Ballenger and Hodges were booked into the Morgan County Jail on $20,000 bail.

Authorities need the public's help to locate Justin Scott Hardaway.

Hardaway has been known to rotate locations to different RV parks.

Hardaway was last seen driving a black 2009 Dodge Challenger with a red stripe. He also drives an older model (two-tone), maroon/black, Chevrolet Silverado extended cab.
