Chelsea v Nottingham Forest: Premier League – BBC Sport

  • Chelsea have won just one of their four Premier League meetings with Nottingham Forest (D2 L1) since returning to the top flight in 2022, although their last such game was a 3-2 win in May.

  • Nottingham Forest won this very game 1-0 last season – the only time they have won in a row away from home in the league was against Chelsea, on their first two visits to Stamford Bridge in 1907 and 1908.

  • Since returning to the competition in 2022, no team has lost more Premier League away games in London than Nottingham Forest (10). They have lost each of their last four games in the capital, conceding more than three goals each time, although their only win in London this time around came at Chelsea last season.

  • Chelsea have won nine of their last 11 Premier League games (D1 L1) and have scored at least two goals in eight of those nine wins. In fact, the Blues are the league's top scorers this season (15) and also have the highest shot conversion rate (20.3%).

  • Nottingham Forest have taken 13 points from their last five away Premier League games (W4 D1), as many as they had in their previous 27 combined (W2 D7 L18). They are aiming to remain unbeaten in six consecutive away games in the top flight for the first time since February-November 1995 (12).

  • No team has had fewer shots on goal in the Premier League this season than Nottingham Forest (18, level with Man City). In fact, their average of three shots on goal per game is the lowest in a single league season (since 2013-14).

  • No Premier League game has produced more goals so far this season than Chelsea (22 – F15 A7), while Nottingham Forest have produced the fewest (11 – F6 A5).

  • Since his debut for Chelsea in September last season (which was a home defeat to Nottingham Forest), Cole Palmer has been involved in more Premier League goals than any other player (43 – 28 goals, 15 assists). During this time, he averaged a goal or assist every 73 minutes, the best rate of any Chelsea player in Premier League history (minimum 500 minutes).

  • Jadon Sancho has provided an assist in all three Premier League games for Chelsea so far (3 in total), already equaling his best assist total in a single season in the competition (3 in 2021-22 and 2022-23). The only players to record an assist in each of their first four games for a club are Cesc Fàbregas (Chelsea) and Chris Waddle (Sunderland).

  • Nottingham Forest's James Ward-Prowse has been involved in four goals in his last five Premier League starts against Chelsea (2 goals, 2 assists) and scored the winner in his last start at Stamford Bridge with Southampton in April 2023.
