The search for the stolen pickup truck continues after a KC man was killed

KANSAS CITY – Law enforcement is investigating a homicide in Kansas City and continues to ask for help locating a suspicious vehicle.

Shortly before 10:30 a.m. Police responded to a shooting near East 55th Street and College Avenue on Thursday, according to Sheriff Daryl Forte.

-Burgundy over tan Ford F150 4-door, license number 8FHB06 (MO). The vehicle was stolen with the blanket rolled up and the tailgate down.

When officers arrived in the area, they discovered a man in the middle of the street suffering from apparent gunshot trauma and unresponsive. According to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez, EMS responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the victim and a suspect were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in shots being fired and the victim being struck. Investigators are asking for help finding the suspect, described as an adult black male wearing all dark clothing and sitting in a mid-2000s burgundy Ford F-150 pickup truck. The suspect left the area in the pickup truck in an unknown direction.
