Raiders WR Davante Adams (hamstring) should be healthy by next week as trade talks get underway

If the Raiders don't get their prize, they'll settle for waiting, sources say.

The Jets are in London for a Week 5 game against the Vikings before playing the Bills on Monday night, October 14th. That means if New York does indeed trade for Adams, he will have an extra day to prepare and be ready, even though this is an offense in which he thrived for years with Rodgers in Green Bay. Should fit easily.

If it were the Saints, it would be his other quarterback, Derek Carr, who said this week: “I think all 32 quarterbacks would like to play with Davante. We would welcome that.”

Carr said he and Adams have stayed in touch – obviously they are close friends – and the same goes for Rodgers, who has spoken to Adams regularly. The ever-convincing Rodgers was always open about his desire for Adams to join him and said so when asked.

Speaking in London this week, Rodgers said he still had a “close friendship” with Adams.

“The rest is out of my hands,” Rodgers said.

According to sources, the Raiders want at least a second-round pick for Adams, who came to Las Vegas in March 2022 for a first- and second-round game.

Adams is making a base salary of $17 million this year and the Jets can accept such a contract. The Saints would have to adjust his contract to accommodate him due to their lack of cap space.

Either way, whoever trades for Adams will have to rework his 2025 and 2026 years, which have $44.1 million and $45.1 million cap hits, respectively.
