Rihanna and A$AP Rocky prove that fashion opposites attract!

When the couple stepped out in New York City on Saturday, October 5, they opted for a contrasting look: The “Love on the Brain” singer, 36, rocked almost all black and the also 36-year-old “Sundress ” rapper , who serves as her fashion counterpart in a crisp white coat.

For her evening at Italian eatery Ambra, Rihanna wore an oversized black puffer coat with an equally oversized collar, which she appeared to layer over a matching minidress.

To complete the almost monochrome outfit, the Fenty founder paired the ensemble with a black hat and simple stilettos.

To add even more accessories, Rihanna accessorized the look with a stack of chunky gold chains and added a subtle pop of color with a pair of red-toned shades from Dolce & Gabbana's new Sharped collection.

Rocky, on the other hand, looked classically cool in a knee-length, double-breasted trench coat in a light shade of white.

The rapper and father of two wore the jacket over a simple white shirt, black pants and a maroon tie, which he accessorized with dress shoes in a similar hue.

The evening for the musicians – who are known for their stylish date nights, whether they get together or not – comes shortly after Rihanna shared a rare glimpse into her personal life with her sons RZA, 2, and Riot Rose, 14 months.

On September 27, alongside a video of RZA attempting to escape his playpen, the mother admitted that “being a boy, being a mother, is an Olympic sport.”

In the clip, the toddler attempted – and ultimately managed – to escape the enclosure while his mother filmed him, seemingly in disbelief.

The couple's NYC getaway also comes after Rocky made headlines for his kind words to his partner.

In August, the rapper said billboard that he doesn't know if there is “a more perfect person” than the “Umbrella” singer.

Talking about how they find balance amidst their hectic work lives, Rocky said, “It's crazy how we find balance with our chaotic schedules.”

But he said of Rihanna: “I don't think there's a more perfect person because when schedules are hectic, she's very understanding.”

Rocky also noted that the couple spends “most of their time together” when their schedules are “freer.”

“It’s all understanding and compatibility,” he added.
