ICE! returns to Gaylord Texan Resort this holiday season – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

ICE!, Texas' largest frozen Christmas attraction, returns to Grapevine for the holiday season.

The annual ice sculpture exhibition features walk-in exhibits, more than ten immersive scenes, six thrilling two-story-high ice slides, and numerous photo opportunities.

This year's ICE! exhibit is all about Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. The exhibit runs from November 15th to January 5th at the Gaylord Texan Resort.

In addition to the ice show, the resort will feature Christmas-themed activities such as an ice tubing hill, ice skating rink, live shows, photos with Santa and more. The resort grounds will feature over two million twinkling Christmas lights, 15,000 glittering Christmas decorations and a 52-foot-tall rotating Christmas tree.

The 2 million pounds of ice will be sculpted by a 40-person team of experts from Harbin, China. The team will spend about 40 days creating the icy spectacle that will fill the 15,000-square-foot attraction from floor to ceiling. The attraction will be kept at a cool -12 degrees Celsius to preserve the frozen details. To keep guests warm, the resort will provide them with complimentary blue parkas.

The ice sculpture attraction made its debut at the Gaylord Texan Resort in 2006, but returned last year after a two-year hiatus during the pandemic with the theme “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”

Guests planning to kick off the holiday season in July can now book special early bird packages or tickets on ICE.marriott.com to receive their limited-time discount.
