Monica Bellucci has declared that she loves Tim Burton as a man and director

Monica Bellucci has declared that she loves Tim Burton.

The 58-year-old “Irreversible” actress and the “Beetlejuice 2” director are currently in London to film the horror comedy sequel. Monica opened up about her feelings for her partner after the pair confirmed long-standing relationship rumors in February by kissing during a Valentine's Day stroll in Santa Monica, California.

She told Elle France how much she appreciates Tim as a person and as a professional: “What I can say… First of all, I'm glad I met the man. It's one of those meetings that you rarely have in life… I know the man, I love him, and now I'm going to meet the director, a new adventure begins.”

“I love Tim. And I have great respect for Tim Burton.”

She added of Tim's films: “I love this dream world where the monsters are friendly, as if we can turn our darker sides into something bright and forgiving.

“Tim Burton’s films are a lot about that.”

After the two were spotted kissing in February, they were seen walking arm in arm before Tim put his arm around Monica as they entered a restaurant.

They have been friends for more than 15 years and rumors say they started dating after the Lumière Film Festival in Lyon, France in October 2022.

French media outlet Paris Match reported that the director of Edward Scissorhands and the actress first met at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006, but “grew closer” behind the scenes of Lumière.

The director separated from actress Helena Bonham Carter, 57, in 2014 after 13 years of marriage. They have 19-year-old son Billy and 15-year-old daughter Nell.

Monica separated from her artist partner Nicolas Lefebvre, 41, in 2019 and was married to actor Vincent Cassel, 56, from 1999 to 2013 – with whom she has daughters Deva, 18, and 13-year-old Léonie.
