St. Helens Theatre Royal presents “Snow White at Christmas”

Hi ho hi ho, off to the pantomime for Chantelle Morgan who will be playing the title role in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at St. Helens Theatre Royal this Christmas.

Chantelle, from Welsh Valleys, said today she was “extremely excited” to have been chosen for the star-studded cast of the must-see pantomime following open auditions at the theatre.

“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” is scheduled to run between Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, January 12, 2025.

Regal Entertainments Ltd, producers of the hugely popular seasonal shows, were earlier this month looking for talented “triple artists” to perform alongside singing legend Maureen Nolan, Corrie's Emrhys Cooper and panto queen Leanne Campbell.

More than 150 applicants responded to the call and 50 of them had to attend personal auditions where they could demonstrate their singing, dancing and acting talent. Chantelle was selected after deliberations by the jury.

Chantelle trained in musical theatre at the Urdang and Emil Dale Academy and has been fortunate enough to share the stage with some very well known artists including Welsh star Luke Evans on the BBC's Luke Evans Show Time.

Her other roles include Jill in Jack and the Beanstalk (2023), Maid Marion in Robin Hood (2022), Cinderella (2021), Kylar in Girl United: The Musical (2021), Sister Mary Roberts in Sister Act (2018) and an appearance alongside Gareth Malone at the opening of Soho House.

Alongside Maureen Nolan, Emrhys Cooper and Leanne Campbell, who play the Evil Queen, Prince Fredrick and a digital magic mirror, Chantelle will also star alongside St Helens favourites Lewis Devine as Muddles and Richard Aucott as Nurse Nelly.

The seven dwarves are voiced by Johnny Vegas, Joel Ross, Pete Price, Philip Regan (Queen of Scotty Road), Craig Phillips, Louis Emerick and John May.

Regal Entertainments Ltd has been bringing world-class, star-studded productions to the North West for over 20 years. It is run by theatre heavyweight Jane Joseph and Chantelle Nolan, a mother and daughter duo who produce world-class dramas, comedies and panto productions that consistently break box office records.

Four pantomimes are performed – at Easter, Christmas and during the February and October half-terms – and each year tens of thousands of theatregoers enjoy this fantastic, family-friendly treat.

Panto director and St Helens Theatre Manager Chantelle Nolan says:

“We are delighted to welcome Chantelle to the Regal family. She proved to be the most beautiful of all during a day of extraordinary auditions in front of over 50 promising young talents. All of the performers lit up the stage of the historic Theatre Royal in St Helens.

“After careful deliberation by the audition panel, Chantelle’s princess-like qualities shone through and her wonderful singing and acting talent is undeniable.

“We know that the whole of St Helens and the Liverpool City Region will welcome Chantelle to Pantoland this Christmas. We can’t wait to immerse ourselves in the fairytale and make your festive dreams come true!”

Chantelle Morgan adds:

“I feel very lucky and grateful to have been cast as Snow White herself in this year’s Christmas pantomime.

“From the moment I walked into St Helens Theatre Royal and auditioned on their beautiful stage, something just felt right and I felt at home with the warm welcome I received.

“I’m really excited to be stepping into the role of Snow White and sharing the stage with some very well-known people from the industry.”
