Ugly practices of the young Packer become a big problem for Green Bay

Green Bay Packers training camp has begun and fans got some great news on Friday night as they signed their starting quarterback Jordan Love to a lucrative multi-year contract. Love sat out the first few days of training camp because he didn't have a new contract, giving Sean Clifford and rookie Michael Pratt the opportunity to share starting duties.

Clifford is entering his second year and is battling for the second quarterback spot with Pratt, who was selected in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The former Penn State star visibly struggled in minicamp, which continued into training camp.

According to a series of tweets from USA TODAY's Ryan Wood, Clifford did not perform at his best during training camp on Sunday.

The second-year quarterback threw two bad interceptions, which is not something you want to see in a practice environment, but if there's one place to work through your problems and get better, it's training camp.

Clifford will have a few more weeks of training camp before the Packers open their preseason game against the Cleveland Browns on August 10. Since it's the first preseason game, we probably won't see Jordan Love much, which means Clifford and Pratt will get a lot of action against new competition.

For Clifford, the task is simple: avoid turnovers, don't do too much on the field and try to combine the good practices. If he can do that, the former Penn State signal caller will get the job as QB2. However, if Clifford fails at one or two of those things, Pratt will move up the rankings.
