Sequel to “In A Violent Nature” in the works

Johnny will be back! A sequel to Chris Nash's atmospheric, unique slasher In A Violent Nature is officially in the works.

It's a good time to be a horror fan. After a shaky start, 2024 has brought us horror films like Long legs, Immaculate And The first omen and Chris Nash's absolutely unique In a violent nature.

The film, shot largely from the killer's point of view, was a huge hit for IFC Films and Shudder, so it's no surprise that a sequel is now officially in the works. The announcement was made during a panel titled “The Brave Voice of Contemporary Horror” at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend.

As Bloody Disgusting reports, screenwriter and director Nash is listed as a writer, but it is likely that he will also return as director.

Ahead of the film's UK release, we asked Nash if he'd like to see his Jason Voorhees-style killer return to different locations in many sequels. The director was tight-lipped, but seemed vaguely excited about the future of the franchise.

“It would be really fun if we could go wild with this character. And the whole concept of applying a real art school mentality to slasher movies and sending him to all these different places would be wild,” Nash told us.

There is no news yet on the cast or a release date, but we will let you know as soon as we know more.
