Santa teaches Beebo a lesson in cuteness. Preview of “Beebo Saves Christmas”

Legends of TomorrowBeebo, the teddy bear turned god, will soon learn that Christmas has many things in store for him.

EW presents an exclusive preview of The CW's upcoming animation special Beebo, save Christmas. Narrated by Legends The hour-long story, written by Victor Garber, follows Beebo (voiced by Ben Diskin) and his friends Tweebo (Kimiko Glenn), Turbo (Yvette Nicole Brown) and Fleabo (Keith Ferguson) as they travel to the North Pole to find out what makes Christmas meaningful after an efficiency-obsessed elf named Sprinkles (Chris Kattan) decides that things would be better without Santa Claus (Ernie Hudson). While Beebo is in Legends of Tomorrow Several times his entire troupe was created for this sweet dose of Christmas spirit.

In the sweet video above, Santa pulls Beebo and Sprinkles over and tells them that Christmas means something different to everyone.

“It encompasses more than just one feeling,” says kind old Santa Claus. “From what I have experienced on my travels, Christmas consists of all kinds of feelings: joy, nostalgia, melancholy, even sadness.” But just in time to put this feeling to the test, there is a knock on the door.

In a recent edition of his newsletter Legal Shipping, Legends Co-creator and Beebo saves Christmas Executive producer Marc Guggenheim praised the story's lighthearted tone and revealed some interesting behind-the-scenes insights.

“It's so cute I fear it will turn the audience into diabetics,” Guggenheim wrote in the Nov. 4 issue. “The original concept for the special was very (too) meta, with Beebo saving an old videotape called 'Beebo Saves Christmas.' That meant that the title of the special (no joke) was originally going to be Beebo saves Beebo saves Christmas.”

Written by Legends executive producer Matt Maala and Kevin Shinick, Beebo saves Christmas is executive produced by Legends of Tomorrow Showrunners Phil Klemmer, Keto Shimizu and Grainne Godfree as well as Sam Register, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, David Madden and Shinick.
