Second Seine training cancelled due to water pollution

The triathletes involved will not be able to train in the Seine before the start of the event on Tuesday 30 July.

The rains that fell in Paris on Friday and Saturday, polluting the Seine, have once again forced the organizers of the Olympic Games to cancel the triathlon training in the river scheduled for Monday morning, as they did the day before. They remain “confident” They announced that the tests would be carried out on Tuesday and Wednesday very early on Monday, July 29th.

This is therefore happening without having previously explored the stretch of river swimming, starting from the Pont Alexandre-III, while the current in the Seine, swollen by the rains of the past few weeks, is three times higher than a normal summer level (more than 400 m3 per second on Monday morning, compared to 100 to 150 in normal times).
