Humbug!” Scrooge sums up his feelings about Christmas messages and charitable giving, but he is forced to confront his selfishness when three ghosts guide him through his past, present, and future on Christmas Eve. Thanks to their guidance, Scrooge realizes the errors of his ways and greets Christmas morning with a cheery “Merry Christmas” before spending the day reconnecting with and giving love to the people who mean the most to him.

  • Jersey Boys 23 January 2025 to 6 April 2025

Summary: Jersey Boys follows the fascinating journey of four working-class kids who became one of the biggest successes in popular music history. • Violinist on the roof 24 April 2025 to 15 June 2025

Summary: Set in the small village of Fiddler on the Roof, the story centers on Tevye, a poor milkman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and close-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his daughters and instill traditional values in them in the face of changing social mores and growing anti-Semitism in Tsarist Russia. The universal theme of tradition in Fiddler on the Roof is rich in historical and ethnic detail and transcends the barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences weeping tears of laughter, joy and sorrow.

  • The Music Man – 10 July 2025 to 31 August 2025

Summary: The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he connives the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boy band he promises to organize – despite the fact that he can't tell a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to run away from town with the money are thwarted when he falls in love with librarian Marian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by the time the curtain falls.

Words from the owner

What goes into selecting the Argyle Theatre's program? According to Dylan Perlman, co-owner and managing partner of the Babylon Playhouse, it requires research and audience feedback.

“First of all, we look at what our audience likes,” he said. “What do people want to see? Then we find the art in it, we find the heart in it and we make it the best production day possible. From day one, our mission has been to bring the Broadway-like experience to Long Island, and that's at the heart of each of these productions.”
