Rickie Haywood-Williams confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special

Rickie Haywood-Williams is the second celebrity confirmed for this year's Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special.

The 42-year-old DJ and presenter, along with previously confirmed Rosie Ramsey, will be two of the six celebrity contestants taking to the dancefloor on the festive special next month, and the former KISS FM breakfast show co-host can't wait to take part.

He said: “I've watched Strictly over the years and always said I was too scared to do it.

“But here I am, ready to try, sequins and all.”

Rickie will team up with professional Strictly Come Dancing dancer Luba Mushtuk for the festive show.

News of Rickie's upcoming appearance on the Strictly Christmas special was announced today (30.11.22) on BBC Radio 1's Rickie, Melvin and Charlie show.

In the Christmas special, each of the six couples perform a festive routine in the hope of impressing judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, head judge Shirley Ballas and the voting audience.

Rosie was the first celebrity contestant confirmed for the show today.

The presenter and author, who is married to comedian Chris Ramsey, will star alongside professional dancer Neil Jones in the Christmas special. The star admits she has been “desperately” waiting to appear on the show since seeing her husband perform in full glory in 2019.

She said: “I am so excited to be dancing in this year's Strictly Christmas special!

“After watching my husband Chris compete a few years ago, I was keen to get on the dance floor myself!

“I absolutely love Christmas too and my partner Neil is wonderful so this is just perfect. Best Christmas ever!”
