Entertaining trailer for Kevin Smith's new film THE 4:30 MOVIE — GeekTyrant

Kevin Smith has released the first trailer for his new coming-of-age filmThe 4:30 Moviewhich is considered the filmmaker’s most personal film to date.

Described as a “poignant, comical valentine to 80s cinema and youth,” the film tells a fun and entertaining story and is the kind of film I enjoy watching.

Set in the summer of 1986, the film is about “three sixteen-year-old friends who spend their Saturdays secretly going to the local cinema.”

“When one of the guys invites the girl of his dreams to see an R-rated movie, all hilarity erupts while a smug cinema manager (Ken Jeong) and teenage rivalries thwart his best plans.”

The cast includes an all-star ensemble, including Sam Richardson, Genesis Rodriguez, Justin Long, Jason Lee, Rachel Dratch, Kate Micucci, Adam Pally, Harley Quinn SmithAnd Method Man.

Smith said in a statement: “The day we bought Smodcastle Cinemas, not only did I reclaim an essential part of my childhood, but I suddenly had access to a visually interesting and free cinema venue!

“So I started writing a personal paean to the past for us kids of the '70s and '80s – the pre-information generation who grew up without the Internet, when romance and relationships required a lot more than a swipe to get going, and the idea of asking someone you had a crush on out on a date was as terrifying as the looming threat of nuclear war.”

Tickets for the premiere are now available on the Smodcastle website (note: premiere prices apply). The premiere will take place at the Smodcastle Cinemas in New Jersey and will serve as a fundraiser for the cinema.
