Gabbi Tuft, former WWE wrestler, also known as Tyler Reks, comes out as transgender

Former WWE Superstar Gabbi Tuft, who wrestled under the ring name Tyler Reks, was transgender. Before her gender reassignment surgery, she took to social media to reveal herself to her fans in an emotional message. “This is me. Unashamed, unashamed,” she captioned the post. “This is the side of me that has been hiding in the shadows, full of anxiety and fear of what the world might think; full of fear of what my family, friends and followers would say or do.” Tyler Reks captivated fans during her time in wrestling with her animalistic personality and multiple gimmicks. “I am no longer afraid and I am no longer timid,” she wrote. “I can now confidently say that I love myself just the way I am,” she said in the emotional letter to her followers. Tuft retired from wrestling in 2014 after seven years with WWE, during which she appeared on WWE Raw, SmackDown and Wrestlemania. “The last eight months have been some of the darkest of my life. The emotional turmoil of being trans and having to face the world has nearly killed me several times. However, the day I stopped caring what other people thought was the day I truly became limitless and let the real me come to light,” she said in the Instagram post.

After retiring from wrestling, Tuff spent time with her wife, Priscilla, and their daughter. She also became a fitness coach and motivational speaker after starting a fitness website with other wrestlers. “My loving wife, family and closest friends have accepted me for who I am. To them I am eternally grateful. Your support along the way means more to me than you will ever know,” she wrote.
