    Until 1663, when the first parish priest settled in Carrières, the Carriérois had to cross the plain to Triel to go to church under the authority of the diocese of Rouen and to settle all the administrative affairs of their lives (marriage, birth or death certificates…). It would undoubtedly have been more logical for them to settle such formalities with the parish of Poissy, but the latter was dependent… on the diocese of Chartres! However, it was not until 1801 that the parish of Carrières became completely independent. Come and discover or rediscover this historic site in Carrières-sous-Poissy.
