The 41st edition of the Journées du Patrimoine takes place this weekend, September 21 and 22. In the Val d'Oise, the Château d'Arnouville invites us to immerse ourselves in its history. Discover this unfinished monument in the heart of the 95th department.

It's the September event you don't want to miss. Weekend of 21 and 22 September 2024The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) will once again bring the Paris region to life 41st edition rich in cultural discoveries and visits. During this highlight in the Paris Region calendar, the general public is invited to Treasures of the Île-de-France heritage.

This event, which takes place throughout Europe, is an opportunity to see the best of out of a huge Visit programoften free of charge, accompanied by activities for young and old. In Paris and that Île-de-France Numerous sites in the region are affected: museums, monuments, castles, churches, libraries and even places that are not normally open to the public, including ministries, embassies and major institutions.

Why not take this opportunity to explore the heritage of the Ile-de-France region? In the In the Val d'Oise region you will find many great discoveries and cultural treasures, and in the City of Arnouvilleyou have the opportunity to delve deeper into theHistory of the castlean unfinished monument erected at the end of the 18th century for Jean-Baptiste de Machault d'Arnouville, minister of Louis XV.

  • Guided tour of Château d'Arnouville and its grounds
    Saturday, 21 September, 5:00 p.m.

    The tour will take you through the history of this property, which was built in the 18th century and passed from hand to hand until it became home to an Institute of Therapy, Education and Pedagogy (ITEP), which takes in troubled young people and teaches them gardening. In the park, you will also come across embroidered photographs and graffiti paintings created with local residents as part of the “Regards sur ta ville” artist residency promoted by Roissy Pays de France.
    We enter the castle to look at the salons and the chapel.
    Visit proposed by the Patrimoines Mission of Roissy Pays de France in collaboration with the ITEP Pierre-Mâle (Entraide Union association).

  • Food truck and open-air screening of the film “The Hunchback”

    8 p.m.: public screening: Le Bossu by Philippe de Broca (1997, 120 minutes)
    What better setting than the castle courtyard for a film about cloak and dagger? Come and (re)discover this classic adventure and revenge film by Philippe de Broca. The Chevalier de Lagardère (Daniel Auteuil) takes sixteen years to avenge his friend, the Duke of Nevers, murdered by the notorious Gonzague (Fabrice Luchini). Sixteen years to lead morale to victory, to save honor… and to find love!
