Cadbury launches Christmas Advent calendar, but shoppers are unsure

Cadbury left customers speechless after the release of its Christmas Advent calendar.

Shoppers were baffled when they saw the advent calendar advertised on social media in the middle of summer, saying it was too early in the year to think about Christmas.

Instagram page @newfoodsuk shared a photo of the festive treat with the caption, “New Cadbury Dairy Milk Creamy Advent Calendar! We got ours from Cadbury Gifts Direct!”

Several buyers expressed disappointment in the comments about the timing of Cadbury's share release.

“It's August,” wrote one user, while another added, “I'm sorry but what has happened to life this month? We're trying to enjoy summer but fall/Christmas is MONTHS away.”

“It's like we can't enjoy what we have right now. Let's live a little.”

“It’s scary to think about Christmas at this time of year,” said another.

“The fact that Christmas starts earlier every year doesn't really help my depression. I understand that companies want to make a profit, but August really is the worst.”

“Oh my God, why,” cried one buyer.

Cadbury's Dairy Milk Creamy Advent Calendar is the latest addition to the brand's seasonal range.

The launch comes after eagle-eyed shoppers criticised a discount store for stocking its shelves with Christmas decorations, claiming it was “criminal” to sell seasonal items so early in the year.

Lorna Cooper from Paisley was shocked when she stumbled upon a selection of Christmas products at The Range.

The mother shared a photo of shelves full of Christmas products on Facebook.

The post was captioned: “OMG Christmas has arrived at The Range. I hated it when they had the Halloween stuff last week.”

The post was flooded with comments, with one user writing: “Christmas in shops in July is criminal and should not be allowed.”

A second user ranted: “Wish your life was over and just enjoy each season as it comes.”

“When I see 'Christmas' in all the shops for months, it spoils the magic of Christmas for my children. Especially when you try to explain to them how far away Christmas is, but they don't understand because everything looks Christmassy.

“It spoils the fun for the children so early,” a fourth person chimed in.
