Heritage Days 2024 at the Cité de la Céramique in Sèvres (92)

The Cité de la Céramique de Sèvres opens its doors to the public on Heritage Days on Saturday 21 September and Sunday 22 September 2024, with free admission. An opportunity to discover the heritage of the Royal Manufactory of Sèvres.

The Cité de la Céramique de Sèvres takes part in the 41st edition of the Heritage Travelon 21 and 22 September 2024. During the entire weekend, the museum and the factory will open their doors to the public, for freeto share their treasures and their history with curious people.

Discover the fine art of porcelain and admire one of the skills which has been the basis of France's exceptional reputation for centuries. Let yourself be fascinated by the knowledge and techniques of the specialists and learn about the art of ceramics during this discovery weekend. The City of Ceramics has planned various activities for young and old to fully immerse us in this artistic and craft world.

Every year thanks to the Journées du Patrimoine (Days of Heritage), the inhabitants of the Ile-de-France can visit thousands of different sites and discover the history of France in every detail. Castles, places of worship, places of power, museums, natural sites or architectural experiments, factories and workshops: the France of yesterday and today is revealed in these exceptional places.

The program for this Heritage Days weekend:

  • Guided tours of the workshops of the Manufactory Nationale de Sèvres
    21 and 22 September

    Go behind the scenes at the Sèvres National Porcelain Manufactory! Enter workshops rarely open to the public, learn the secrets of Sèvres porcelain production and discover the creation of daring works of art. Throughout the weekend, ongoing guided tours will give you the opportunity to explore the wide range of Sèvres know-how, which dates back to the 18th century and is still used today.

  • Presentations and events at the Musée national de Céramique de Sèvres
    21 and 22 September

    Immerse yourself in the world of ceramics, from its origins to the present day, from Europe and other countries… Throughout the weekend, discover the masterpieces of the Musée national de céramique de Sèvres, with a presentation of the archives of the Graphic Arts Department, a presentation of the works of the Conservation Department and free access to the collections!
