Jenna Bush Hager stars in Hallmark's Christmas movie 'KC Chiefs' but jokes she won't play Taylor Swift

“I thought it was about Taylor [Swift] and Travis [Kelce]and I thought, 'I got the Taylor role,'” Bush Hager explained

Jenna Bush Hager is going to Hallmark!

The talk show host announced that she has landed a role in an upcoming Christmas movie about the Kansas City Chiefs, in the Thursday, July 11 episode Today Although Bush Hager said she could not tell much about her role in the film, called Holiday Touchdown: A Chief's Love Storyshe gave a hint as to what she would not do.

“Here is the script, but it's top secret,” she said. “At first I thought it was about Taylor [Swift] and Travis [Kelce]and I thought, 'I got the Taylor role.' But I didn't – shock!”

Bush Hager, wearing a jersey with Kelce's number and a Santa hat, explained that it would be a classic Hallmark story about a “superfan who falls in love with a man who works for the” Chiefs.

“Let’s think about Christmas in July,” she teased.

When Savannah Guthrie asked if Bush Hager had a speaking role in the film, the former First Daughter revealed that she did indeed have lines and waved her script.

“Do you have to memorize a lot?” asked Guthrie.

“Well, a lot of it is – again, I thought it was Taylor's fault, that doesn't happen – a lot of it is kind of exaggerated,” Bush Hager joked.

Filming will begin soon, she said, explaining that she will travel to Kansas City later this month.

As for her character's role in the whole love story, Bush Hager told Craig Melvin that she will “maybe” have a love scene.

“Do you think I’ve become Kathie Lee? [Gifford]?” she laughed, referring to the former Today Main role of the show host in Hallmarks A Godwink Christmas: Designed for love.

While she couldn't say whether Kelce will appear in the film, she did reveal that she'll “pack a big jacket and it's 100 degrees in Kansas City.”

“I've always dreamed of this,” she joked, adding that she actually had to audition.

“We're proud of you!” Guthrie replied at the end of the section. “You can do it!”
