A flashback episode of 'How I Met Your Father' reveals how Sid and Hannah first got together – watch the preview

How I met your father is doing its first full-fledged flashback episode — and TVLine has you covered with an exclusive first look.

The seventh episode of season two, aptly titled “A Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Valentine's Day,” airs on March 7. In it, the gang recounts their worst Valentine's Day experiences in an attempt to cheer Ellen up. What follows is a series of truly embarrassing moments from Sophie, Val, Jesse, Sid and Charlie's respective pasts. Among them is a look at the night married Sid and Hannah first became boyfriend and girlfriend – thanks in part to the help of Drew.

It all starts when Sid drags Jesse to a med school party to confront Hannah. He wants to make it official, but gets the wrong idea when he sees Hannah with Drew, who he's obviously never met before. The solution, Sid says, is to make Hannah jealous by showing him that he can have just as much fun without her. To that end, he convinces Jesse to enter the world's silliest dance competition.

The oversized second season of the Hulu comedy with 20 episodes has so far featured two familiar faces from How I Met your mother: Neil Patrick Harris, whose first cameo as Barney Stinson sets the stage for his eventual return; and Alexis Denisof, who reprised his recurring role as whoring journalist Sandy Rivers.
