Deadpool and Wolverine return for a new team this Christmas

Deadpool and Wolverine (2024) have officially entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) thanks to Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox Studios in 2019, the art of breaking the fourth wall, and of course, the multiverse.

Starring Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson/Deadpool) and Hugh Jackman (Logan/Wolverine), the new film marks the end of the Fox era and the beginning of a new one for the MCU. But what happens now? Will Marvel use these two insanely likable characters for future films? After all, it's hard to forget all the struggles the MCU has had over the past four years.

As Deadpool himself says to Wolverine in the film, “Welcome to the MCU. You're entering at a pretty low point.” Marvel's films haven't done so well since the box office hits Avengers: Endgame (2019) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).

Many fans and critics were not impressed by films like The Eternals (2021), Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023) and The wonders (2023) – most of which were box office flops – and attributed this to “superhero movie fatigue” and the general decline in quality of the MCU.

But how is Deadpool and Wolverine do well at the box office?

How is the film doing at the box office?

Deadpool and Wolverine has already grossed nearly $1 billion less than two weeks after its theatrical release, with $824.2 million (that's called “maximum effort”). It is currently on track to become the highest-grossing film of 2024, but is already in second place behind Pixar's Inside Out 2 (2024), which grossed over $1.5 billion worldwide.

Will there be a Deadpool and Wolverine 2?

There are currently no plans for another Deadpool and Wolverine team-up movie, we will most likely see these characters again in a future MCU movie, whether together or separately, especially given the film's box office success.

Nevertheless, Ryan Reynolds, the star of “Wade Wilson/Deadpool,” recently told Collider: “I have no idea if I’ll ever wear that Deadpool suit again – I hope so – but I don’t know.”

In any case, the upcoming MCU movies include Captain America: Brave New World (2025), Thunderbolts (2025), The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025), blade (2025), Avengers: Endgame (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027).

But the X-Men duo will actually return before the end of the year…

Not surprising, Deadpool and Wolverine Goods are already flooding the shelves (both literally and digitally). However, there are no actual Action Figures has not yet been released. Usually, such merchandise supplements for superhero films are easily available for fans to purchase in advance – or at least while – the theatrical running time of a film.

But for whatever reason, Hasbro Pulses “Deadpool and Wolverine Marvel Legends” figures are not yet available. The good news is that they Do have a release date: mid-November. Coincidence? Unlikely. Toy giant Hasbro could be strategically stoking the fire to provoke a huge sales boost in the run-up to Christmas 2024.

Delaying a release like this until the holidays would be a genius marketing move (perhaps Hasbro consulted Ryan Reynolds personally, since he's a marketing genius). And why not? The Marvel Legends figures in question look pretty spectacular.

And while we know the movie isn't for adults, Wade Wilson/Deadpool recently made his debut at the Disney Parks. But let's be honest, kids all know who he is anyway (although it's not just kids who want to get their hands on these awesome action figures – We also do!).

So there is the Marvel Legends Series Headpool with Marvel's Logan Action Figure, which features Logan in his normal attire (when Deadpool first meets him in the movie). This figure comes equipped with “Headpool” – one of the many Deadpool variants seen in the third act.

Fans who were blown away by Logan's iconic yellow X-Men Wolverine suit will likely be more tempted by the Marvel Legends Series Wolverine Action Figure – although some fans aren't happy that he doesn't have the sleeveless arms seen in the film.

Luckily, he has an interchangeable head, so you can switch between Hugh Jackman's beautiful, rugged features (the resemblance is uncanny) and the gorgeous, white-eyed Wolverine mask he puts on at the end of the film that fans have been waiting for. 20 Years.

And of course there is the Marvel Legends Series Deadpool Action Figure (exactly as he looks in the movie, although unlike Wolverine he doesn’t have an interchangeable head).

The question is, will Deadpool and Wolverine cause as much chaos as action figures as they did in the new movie? Will we all be scrambling to get our hands on them, or will we have to hope that the multiverse actually exists so we can find other versions?
