Printing retro sprites of Street Fighter's Dhalsim and Mortal Kombat's Scorpion on lighters is fun, awesome and we'll take 10 of them











Dhalsim from Street Fighter and Scorpion from Mortal Kombat have one very obvious similarity – and no, it's not that they both have ranged attacks. These two iconic fighting game characters both heavily use fire in their movesets, and even more similar is the fact that they both have attacks and maneuvers that involve breathing fire from their mouths.





Although it seems pretty obvious in hindsight, it never occurred to me to put one of the characters on a regular lighter to make it look like they were doing one of their signature flame attacks. But that's exactly why Goh_Billy is the best in the business when it comes to creating real-world items with fighting game cues.










Last time we saw Billy make a candle that would light up Guile's classic flattop when lit, and we've also seen some really impressive things in the past, like the old Mortal Kombat Fatalities being reimagined as Valentine's Day cards.


A few days ago, Goh_Billy shared a video on Twitter that featured a printout of the Dhalsim sprite from Street Fighter 2 in the pose of his special move Yoga Flame taped to a lighter. When you click on the lighter, Dhalsim, as Billy demonstrates, performs the special move in real life.


While something like this might seem a little silly or not that important, it's worth noting that the Dhalsim video currently has over 660,000 views on Twitter. There's something really endearing and nostalgic about Billy's fighting game creations, and at the very least, they're always very creative and on point.


Because so many people liked the Dhalsim lighter, Billy came back with another one, this time for Mortal Kombat's Scorpion. Again, we see the old-school sprite for the character printed out and pasted onto the lighter, and this time it features an unmasked, skeleton-faced scorpion in the midst of his fire-breathing Fatality.
