The highly anticipated film promises an in-depth look at Dylan's electrifying transformation, with Chalamet at the center.

The eagerly awaited Bob Dylan biopicA Complete Unknown will be released in theaters this Christmas.

This holiday treat will see none other than Timothee Chalamet, Hollywood's current golden boy, stepping into the shoes (and guitar strap) of the legendary folk icon.

This film isn't just a walk down memory lane; it also focuses on Dylan's massive transformation at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, where he famously played electric, sending shockwaves through the folk music community.

Chalamet, who already impressed us with his vocal abilities in the 2023 musical Wonkawill be own singing in the film.

Yes, that's right – Chalamet is not just a pretty face; he dedicates himself to Dylan's legendary melodies!

The heartthrob went a step further and took singing and guitar lessons to channel Dylan's distinctive sound.

If his previous achievements are any indication, this performance will make us all ask, “How does it feel” to be this good?

Leaded by James Mangoldthe mastermind behind Logan, the film features an all-star cast including Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, Boyd Holbrook and Monica Barbaro.

Mangold, who was in close contact with Dylan himself, revealed in the podcast “Happy Sad Confused” that he spent several “wonderfully charming” days with the music legend.

“I have a script that he personally annotated and that I value very much,” Mangold said.

“When I first sat down with Bob, one of the first things he said to me was, 'I love Cop Land.'”

But don't expect a cradle-to-grave biography. Mangold clarified: “By the way, it's not a real biopic about Bob Dylan.

“The reason Bob was so supportive of us making it is because it's about… a very specific moment.”

The film paints a comprehensive picture of New York in the early 1960s and follows 17-year-old Dylan as he hitchhikes to visit his idol Woody Guthrie, who is in the hospital battling a nervous illness.

The teaser trailerwhich came out on July 24, gives us a tantalizing glimpse of Chalamet's Dylan wandering the streets of New York City, taking in landmarks like the Chelsea Hotel and Cafe Wha?

We even get a glimpse of some of Dylan's legendary performances, all accompanied by Chalamet's own rendition of a Dylan classic.

The cast of the film also includes Dan Fogler from “Fantastic Beasts” and Norbert Leo Butz, known from “Dan: In Real Life”.

The screenplay, written by Mangold and Jay Cocks, is inspired by Elijah Wald's 2015 book “Dylan Goes Electric!”

Fans are excited for Chalamet's performance. Given his transformative performances in films like Call Me by Your Name and Dune, there's no doubt he will bring the same depth and authenticity to the role of Dylan.

It's a tall order to tackle the man who wrote “The Times They Are a-Changin',” but if anyone can do it, it's Timothee.

“A Complete Unknown” will be released in theaters on December 25, 2024.
