NBA schedule for Christmas Day: Lakers-Warriors, Spurs-Knicks as headliners

Every year, Christmas Day offers basketball fans some of the best NBA games of the year, as rivalry games and matchups between top teams are often on the schedule.

The 2024-25 season is likely to be similar. NBA insider Shams Charania gave a first look at the league schedule for December 25th and there are some exciting duels planned, including a showdown between LeBron James' Los Angeles Lakers and Stephen Curry's Golden State Warriors.

Victor Wembanyama will be thrust into the spotlight in his second NBA season as he and the San Antonio Spurs will face the New York Knicks over the holidays. It will be Wembanyama's first time playing on Christmas, and he hopes to make an impression on the big stage.

A rematch of the Western Conference final is also on the agenda, as the Minnesota Timberwolves face the Dallas Mavericks away.

A classic Eastern Conference rivalry will also be on screens across the country on Christmas Day when the Philadelphia 76ers face the reigning champion Boston Celtics at TD Garden.

In the final duel, two heavyweights of the Western Conference will face each other: the Denver Nuggets and the Phoenix Suns.

The NBA schedule on Christmas Day is always packed with glamour, as the league gets some of its highest ratings during the holidays, and it looks like they've packed the schedule again for the upcoming season with several highly exciting matchups.
