Report: Nuggets will be offered again on Christmas Day

According to Shams Charania, the Denver Nuggets will celebrate Christmas in the desert. The Suns will host the Nuggets for a rematch of their legendary clash on Christmas Day 2022. The Athletic reported on the holiday schedule late Thursday before the NBA released the full schedule.

This is the fifth time in the last six years that the Nuggets have played on Christmas, showing that they are one of the best teams in the league — which is obvious since they won a title two seasons ago and their best player was named MVP for the third time last year. That best player went nuts the last time he saw the Suns on Christmas, when Nikola Jokic posted a triple-double with 41 points, 15 rebounds and 15 assists in a Nuggets overtime win capped off by Aaron Gordon's dunk of the year. The game meant a lot because it was the first time Denver had faced the Suns in full. Jamal Murray was back after being swept by the franchise in the playoffs.

The Suns play for the fourth straight year on December 25th and are winless on the day. Phoenix recently hosted for the third time but has a 12-9 record overall on Christmas. Denver is historically just 3-6 on Christmas and has had wins the last two years. In 2023, Denver hosted the Warriors and won while Steve Kerr threw a tantrum over the number of free throws the Nuggets shot.

The NBA's Christmas games date back to 1947. Here's the rest of the holiday schedule, according to Shams:

Spurs at New York Knicks
Minnesota Timberwolves at Dallas Mavericks
Philadelphia 76ers at Celtics
Lakers at Golden State Warriors

We should know the Nuggets' full schedule soon, but the Suns game will undoubtedly be in the spotlight, especially given Kevin Durant's antics overnight.
