“I test sex toys for a living and Lovehoney's Heartbeat Clitoral Stimulator is the absolute best – and this Amazon Prime Day it's 30% off.”

Heart-shaped jewelry, considered classic by some and kitschy by others, has become a cliché. But a heart-shaped vibrator? Now that's a sweet gift for Valentine's Day.

Luckily, Lovehoney has launched just that: a red, heart-shaped clit sucker that's cute enough to compete with the viral Rose clit sucker toy.

We tested this newcomer to see how it compares to other clit suckers on the market.

What is the Lovehoney Heartbeat Clitoral Suction Stimulator?

Another Lovehoney version of the popular Clitoral Sucker Vibrator, this heart-shaped vibrator is made from soft silicone with a gold detail on the top. It's also free from latex and phthalates, the most common allergens in vibrators, making it a great choice for anyone with an intolerance.

The toy is fully submersible, making it perfect for a romantic evening at the pool for two – or just for you alone. While it feels good in the hand, its shape makes it a little harder to hold than other, more ergonomic clit suckers like the LELO Sona Cruise 2, so I wouldn't recommend the Heartbeat to anyone with mobility or grip issues.

It has a 60-minute run time, 10 intensity levels, and is rechargeable via a magnetic charger (this can easily come loose, so keep an eye on it while charging).

How to use the Lovehoney Heartbeat Clitoral Suction Stimulator?

The Heartbeat Clitoral Suction Stimulator uses air pulse technology to gently simulate the feeling of oral sex. This essentially means that instead of making contact with your clitoris and causing it to pulse or vibrate – like vibrators or even some clitoral suckers do – the Heartbeat creates a seal around your clitoris and massages it through pulsating suction. One of the main benefits of this, aside from the dreamy feeling, is that your clitoris won't go numb from overstimulation – leaving you ready for round two, three, four…

To use, you'll need a dab of water-based lubricant (to ensure a good seal), then simply place the toy's opening over your clitoris, sit back, and enjoy.

There are two buttons on the side, one to turn it on and off (just hold it down for a few seconds to do both) and another below that can be used to change the settings. While the toy is very intuitive to use, it is a bit fiddly to change the settings while in use.

Is the Lovehoney Heartbeat Clitoral Suction Stimulator any good?

Overall, the Heartbeat Clitoral Suction Stimulator is a great little toy. Its suction power is comparable to much higher quality toys like the LELO, but at a much more affordable price. The sensation is much gentler than a vibrator – it feels like your clitoris is being very gently sucked rather than vibrated.

While the sensation isn't exactly like oral sex (sorry to disappoint you), the Heartbeat Suction Stimulator delivers mind-blowing results very quickly. It has a slightly smaller opening than other clitoral suckers, so you can't really use it on your nipples or other body parts. But it packs a punch in terms of sensation, and is definitely a toy I'll be reaching for again.

Because it's small and discreet, it fits perfectly in your pocket for a romantic weekend – or keep it for yourself as a reminder of the importance of self-love this Valentine's Day.
