Westlife's Kian Egan and his wife Jodi Albert, actress from “Hollyoaks”, are heartbroken after miscarriage

Jodi Albert, the wife of Kian Egan, has spoken of her heartache after losing the couple's fourth child at nine weeks.

Former “Hollyoaks” actress Albert (38) and the 41-year-old “Westlife” singer – who already have sons Koa (10), Zekey (6) and Cobi (4) – made a devastating post on Instagram after a fan suspected that she was pregnant.

She posted a picture on the photo-sharing app showing the couple in front of a beach.

She wrote alongside it: “I posted a similar picture on Valentine's Day. One person commented and said she looked pregnant. On any other occasion I might have been offended but this time I thought oh she guessed right, that's me and I can't wait to be 12 weeks along to share our happy news!!!

“But sadly we lost our little one at nine weeks pregnant. This is my second miscarriage, albeit 3 1/2 years apart. This time it was a completely different blow because we allowed ourselves to be excited and dream about what the future would hold with a new, beautiful little blessing for our family,” continued Ms Albert, who played Debbie Dean in the long-running Cheshire soap opera.

She went on to say that she had written and deleted the post many times, but hoped that her experience could help others who are going through a similar situation and reassure them that they are not alone.

“The silence after the D&C is deafening because you are left with so many thoughts and questions that sometimes can never be answered,” she wrote.

“I have found comfort in reading and listening to women who have gone through the same thing, and I suppose that is why I am overcoming my fear and speaking out about it.

“I think it's part of a positive healing process or maybe it's just to remind me that it was real and that this little baby existed and was so loved.”

She further described her husband as her “rock”, telling the one-time I'm a Celebrity winner: “You are the most incredible man. I love you and our boys so much and am so grateful for what I already have.”

The couple originally met at Party in the Park in 1999, when he was 19 and she was just 15 years old and playing in the band Girl Thing.

They didn't get together until four years later, when she was 19.

Ten years later, in May 2009, they married in Barbados after the “Flying Without Wings” hitmaker proposed to her in a romantic marriage proposal on Christmas Eve.

Her first child was born in 2011.
