2 suspects commit armed robbery • Tamarac Talk

As part of our joint efforts with the Broward Sheriff's Office to keep residents informed, this is a summary of crime events in Tamarac through August 5, 2024.

Threats / intimidation

On July 31, 2024, a victim of threats/intimidation was reported. An adult woman reported that someone sent her threatening text messages.

Fraud

On 07/31/2024, a scam victim – Other – was reported. The total estimated loss was $744. The victim reported that they were fraudulently tricked into transferring $744 to an account for a service they never received.

Walmart was the victim of a scam – anything else – at 6931 N Pine Island Road on 08/05/2024. The total estimated loss was $480. The reporter wanted to report a person who had scammed Walmart.

Autozone was the victim of a shoplifting incident on 08/05/2024 at the store located at 6095 N University Drive. The total estimated damage was $681. Two unknown black males entered the store, took two car batteries and left without paying.

On July 31, 2024, a theft was reported in a retail store. Four suspects used the services of a nail salon and fled without paying.

On 08/02/2024, a theft – other – was reported at the 7-Eleven at 3101 W Commercial Blvd. The total estimated loss was $111. A male perpetrator stole frozen pizza from the 7-Eleven.

On August 2, 2024, a car theft was reported. A car theft was reported from Sawgrass Infiniti.

On August 5, 2024, a car theft was reported. While the family was on vacation, a vehicle was removed from the driveway.

Robbery

On August 2, 2024, a robbery was reported. The estimated total damage was $400. Two suspects were involved in an armed robbery with firearms.

Burglary

On August 2, 2024, a burglary was reported. The estimated total damage was $570. A vehicle was broken into and a laptop was stolen.

On 08/02/2024, a burglary of a motor vehicle was reported. The total estimated damage was $555. Two unknown females entered the victim's vehicle and stole her firearm, and two others attempted to break into another vehicle.

On August 3, 2024, a burglary was reported at a residential residence. The estimated total damage was $530. Officers responded to a burglary at an unoccupied residential residence.

On August 2, 2024, a break-in into a motor vehicle was reported. The estimated total damage was $100. An unknown perpetrator entered the victim's unlocked vehicle.

Criminal damage to property

On May 8, 2024, a victim of property damage was reported. For unknown reasons, the rear window of the vehicle shattered.

Property damage

On August 5, 2024, property damage was reported. Two adults reported that a golf ball landed on their windshield while driving on Pine Island Road and the glass shattered.

The information was reported on May 8, 2024. A Crime Stoppers tip for a dog resulted in the dogs being in good condition.

Severe stalking

On August 1, 2024, a victim of aggravated stalking was reported. Officers were dispatched to a call regarding aggravated stalking with a weapon.

Arrests

Campbell, Philip Kenneth Charles, 38, was arrested on 07/30/2024 for willful violation of a domestic violence restraining order.

Grace, Jacari, 18, was arrested on August 1, 2024 for robbery with a firearm.

Martins, April Watanabe, 28, was arrested on August 1, 2024 for aggravated stalking harassment and cyberstalk under a restraining order.

Hicks, Marqus Reynard, 19, was arrested on August 1, 2024 for robbery with a firearm.

Sassine Reyes, David Nicolas, 26, was arrested on February 8, 2024 for vehicle theft/grand theft of a motor vehicle.
