A former University of Kentucky student who was banned from campus and charged with assault after a recording went viral in 2022 of her drunkenly attacking a black student employee and repeatedly using the N-word pleaded guilty to several counts Monday.

Sophia Rosing, now 23, appeared with her attorney in Fayette County District Court to admit to disturbing the peace, alcohol intoxication and four counts of fourth-degree assault. Prosecutors are seeking to punish those charges with 12 months in prison and community service. She also recommended holding a public event at her former school about the dangers of excessive drinking, local NBC affiliate WLEX reported.

When Rosing attempted to enter a University of Kentucky dormitory, Boyd Hall, without her student ID in November 2022, Kylah Spring was working behind the desk. What happened next was captured on video and remains online to this day.

Spring was heard saying, “I don't get paid enough for this,” as she prevented Rosing from getting into an elevator, and the defendant repeatedly called her the N-word while flailing her arms at Spring, trying to maintain her balance.
