Muhlenberg County officials help dismantle suspected criminal organization

TODD ​​CO., Ky. (WFIE) – Five people have been arrested and charged as part of an ongoing investigation into criminal activity in Todd County, Kentucky.

The Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force in Greenville worked with the Todd County Sheriff's Office and the Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Office throughout the case.

On August 10 and 11, five people were arrested as part of the investigation, four of them residents of Elkton, Kentucky.

According to authorities, officers seized over 40 pounds of marijuana, over 25 firearms, a large amount of cash, a large quantity of suspected illegal mushrooms and THC-containing items such as vape cans.

The arrests include:

  • Caleb Bell, 24, of Elkton, was charged with trafficking in marijuana, trafficking in controlled substances, two counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, cultivation of marijuana and engaging in organized crime.
  • Giovanni Capozzi, 21, of Fresno, California, was charged with marijuana trafficking and involvement in organized crime.
  • Maggie Cockrell, 20, of Elkton, was charged with trafficking in marijuana, trafficking in controlled substances, cultivation of marijuana and involvement in organized crime.
  • Patricia Bell, 68, of Elkton, was charged with making false statements about the full price on a property deed.
  • Tharesa “Madison” Mosley, 22, of Elkton, was charged with trafficking marijuana, purchasing/possession of drug paraphernalia and participating in organized crime.

The Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force and several other agencies in multiple states are still investigating. Authorities expect additional charges and arrests as the case progresses.
