Motocross community mourns tragic loss of Granville man | 103.9 WLPO

Although his life was far too short, we learn about the impact 21-year-old Skyler Williams of Granville made before his tragic death.

On Facebook, users may change their profile picture to one with the text “Skyler 15, Forever Moto,” referring to Williams' love of motocross racing and the number on his bike.

Organizers of a major motocross event Saturday at Lincoln Trail Motorsports in Casey, Illinois, are holding raffles with 100 percent of the proceeds going to Skyler's family for funeral expenses. In Spring Valley, the Locker Room is selling T-shirts in memory of Skyler Williams.

Williams was pronounced dead Sunday at OSF in Peoria after being airlifted there the day before. He was involved in an accident in which he fell from an all-terrain vehicle in Hennepin, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

Funeral services are planned in Granville this weekend, and there will be a dirt bike procession to the cemetery on Sunday.
