One dead after motorcycle crash in Washington Co.

LAWRENCE TWP., Ohio (WTAP) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) received a call at 1:39 p.m. Wednesday about a vehicle crash on State Route 26 near mile marker 9 in Lawrence Township, according to OSHP Sergeant Payne.

According to OSHP Sergeant Payne, 63-year-old Stephen Fisher of Illinois was attempting to make a left turn on his northbound motorcycle when his motorcycle overturned.

According to Sergeant Payne, this caused Fisher to veer off the right side of the road and strike a railing, causing him to suffer fatal injuries.

Fisher was wearing a helmet and, according to Sergeant Payne, there is no suspicion that alcohol or drugs were involved.

Agencies involved included OHSP, OSHP Crash Reconstruction Unit, Reno Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department, Ohio Department of Transportation and Gary's Towing.
