2 drivers seriously injured in head-on collision in Greene County – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

GREENE COUNTY – Two drivers were seriously injured in a head-on collision in Greene County Wednesday afternoon.

As reported on Wednesday News Center 7 at 5:30 and 6According to preliminary investigations, the accident involved a Ford Focus traveling north on State Route 72 and a GMC Terrain traveling south on SR-72.

The Ford veered left off center and collided with the oncoming GMC on State Route 72 South, north of Interstate 71, in Jefferson Township shortly before 4 p.m., the Xenia Post reported.

Both drivers were taken from the scene of the accident by air ambulance – the man to Kettering Health Dayton and the woman to Miami Valley Hospital.

Their condition was said to be critical late Wednesday evening, but their names were not released, according to the Xenia Post.

There is no suspicion of alcohol.

The crash remains under investigation.
