Adams County man charged with attempted murder after driving aggression incident in Maryland

The victim was unharmed, but police officers observed shots fired through the passenger compartment of their car.

THURMONT, Maryland – An Adams County man has been arrested on attempted murder charges following a reported incident of road rage in Maryland.

Bryant Paradine, 37, of Littlestown, was charged with attempted murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and other related offenses, according to Maryland State Police.

On August 14, shortly after 7:30 a.m., Maryland State Troopers from Frederick Barrack responded to a reported incident of DUI with shots fired in the area of ​​US 15 southbound at Tippin Drive.

The victim was unharmed, but police reportedly observed gunshots through the passenger compartment of her car. Police also said a projectile was recovered from the victim's car.

The victim described the shooter's vehicle as a maroon Chevrolet SUV with Pennsylvania plates. Police in the area were immediately called for a crash and officers quickly located the car in the parking lot of a business in Thurmont, Maryland.

The suspect, later identified as Paradine, was inside the store. Officers executed a search warrant for his car and found a loaded 9mm handgun and an empty cartridge case of the same caliber.

Paradine was arrested, taken to the Maryland State Police Frederick Barracks building for case processing, and is now awaiting his initial appearance in District Court.
