On July 19 at around 7:55 p.m., police responded to multiple reports of shots fired and a person possibly shot at an apartment complex in the 4700 block of Arid Avenue, near Nellis Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found a man, later identified as 19-year-old Conner Rebolledo, lying unconscious in the parking lot, bleeding from his head area while holding a gun with his finger on the trigger, police said.

Rebolledo was pronounced dead at the scene. The Clark County Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the head.

A resident of the apartment complex told police that she was standing in front of an open window in her apartment and saw Rebolledo walking with a woman when three men suddenly ran up to her and “ambushed” her, police said.

All three men struck Rebolledo, and one of the men had a firearm and pistol-whipped him several times. The witness said the woman was standing nearby and did nothing to diffuse the situation and ran away when the shots were fired, the report said.

During the struggle, the man who pistol-whipped Rebolledo shot him two or three times. After the shots were fired, the three men ran in different directions, with one of the men running toward the woman, police said.

Minutes after police released the suspects' description, a plainclothes LVMPD investigator entered the apartment complex in an unmarked police vehicle when she noticed a vehicle behind her following the same path through the complex.

As the investigator drove away, she noticed a woman and two men whose physical characteristics and clothing descriptions matched some of the suspects enter the parking lot and wave at her. They appeared to be in a hurry, police reported.

The investigator realized the group thought she was their passenger, so she continued driving and saw them get into the vehicle behind her. Police followed and stopped the vehicle. According to police, occupants Nava, Bailey and a family member of Nava were arrested.

Nava told police he and his baby's mother, Bailey, were staying at a friend's house who lived with some other people in the complex when Robelledo showed up. Nava claimed two of the men in the apartment said Robelledo owed them money and wanted to rob him, but Nava did not want to be part of the plan, the report said.

Nava claimed the two men ambushed Rebolledo and he never saw a gun. Nava then asked his family member to send him and Bailey a ride to pick them up.

Bailey told police she was walking with Rebolledo when the men ran up to him and attacked him. She claimed she had met Rebolledo at a party about a month earlier, police said.

When investigators spoke with Rebolledo's mother and girlfriend, they said that around 8:30 p.m. on the night of his murder, Rebolledo received a text telling them he was meeting a friend and would be back in about 30 minutes. That was the last time they saw Rebolledo alive, police said.

Police then spoke to Rebolledo's co-worker, who told them that Rebolledo had messaged a girl named “Emiley” on Instagram and was waiting to meet her and have sex with her. The two were originally supposed to meet on July 16, but “Emiley” canceled. They were then supposed to meet on July 18, the day before Rebolledo was murdered, but “Emiley” said she had a flat tire, according to the report.

Rebolledo then sent screenshots of his messages with Emiley, who made plans with him and assured him that they would “definitely meet tomorrow,” which was the date of his murder, police said.

Text messages

Police searched the phones of Rebolledo, Nava and Bailey and found messages between Bailey and Ridout, who police later identified as the “Emiley” Rebolledo was messaging on Instagram. Police also found that Ridout and Bailey were sisters.

When investigators reviewed messages between Bailey and Ridout, it became clear that Nava and Bailey were experiencing “severe financial difficulties” and had been evicted from their home with their children, police said.

On July 2, Bailey and Ridout sent each other text messages through Rebolledo's Instagram. Ridout said, “Okay, that's already done. Like, I unfollowed you and deleted you,” and Bailey replied, “He blocked me” and sent a screenshot of his Instagram account, police said.

That same day, Ridout sent a screenshot of her conversation with Rebolledo with the words “Just for all of you,” to which Bailey replied, “We win, you win,” the report said.

In another conversation, Ridout asks Bailey: “How do you know he will even have the money with him?” and Bailey replies: “He always brings [Sic] “He likes to look conspicuous and show off,” police said.

From July 2 to July 16, there was constant contact between Rebolledo, Ridout and Bailey. According to police, there were even cases where Bailey typed messages for Ridout, which Ridout could then copy and send to Robelledo.

On July 19, Bailey instructed Ridout to stop responding to Rebolledo because she would take over and text him directly from a different number, the report said.

Police also investigated messages between Bailey and Nava, which appeared to indicate that Nava had been robbing people since 2023. According to the report, he said, “I promise I'll stick it out this month, baby, and not rob anymore.”

In a text thread on July 16, the first day Rebolledo and Ridout were scheduled to meet, Nava Bailey texted, “Is he talking to you?”, to which she replied, “He's checking his messages” and “I love you too, I feel sick to my stomach.”

On July 18, Nava and Bailey texted each other, asking who they could borrow a gun from. On July 19, at about 7:24 p.m., Bailey texted Nava with the address where Rebolledo was later killed, police said.

Police also found text messages between Nava and a contact named “Spazz Out” dated July 19, in which Nava tells him, “Bros, can you guys get me when you're ready?” and “He's trying to do Link and everything, bro.”

The messages go on to say, “He just came back from the casino” and “He brought bread though, brother, he just came back from the casino.” Police said they are investigating the identity of “Spazz Out” as it appears he was also one of the people who conspired with Nava to rob Rebolledo.

Police later learned that Rebolledo worked at a business that refilled ATMs, meaning he handled large amounts of cash. Upon reviewing Rebolledo's Instagram page, police noticed that he regularly posted photos with large amounts of cash, which was consistent with Bailey's description of him as a show-off and a show-off. However, when investigators spoke with Rebolledo's manager, he said the money in the mail was packaged the same way it is packaged before being put into ATMs, police said.

According to police, the manager said he had previously instructed Rebolledo not to publish these images because otherwise he could become the target of a robbery.

According to the documents, Nava, Ridout and Bailey are scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on September 17.
