A mother's lavish college haul for her daughter goes viral

Packing a child's belongings for college is no easy task. There is so much to buy, pack, and bring to campus to ensure your (now grown) child has the best college dorm experience of their life.

From bedsheets to medications to monogrammed towels, one TikTok mom and self-described “working stay-at-home mom who shares awesome finds and hacks” has mastered packing for college. Now she's sharing her haul with her followers.

“Okay, so my daughter’s pile just keeps growing,” Sandy DiTullio began in her now viral video.

“She's going to be a freshman at LSU, and my goodness, we're just getting more and more things done. I want to make sure she's fully prepared.”

So what are the must-haves on her list? An air purifier, a handheld steam cleaner (“You have to get one of these. They're amazing,” she raved.) and a vacuum cleaner, to name a few.

After several of her followers commented on a previous video where she shared her daughter's haul, she made note of anything she might have missed. Thanks to her followers, she snagged all the recommendations.

“And I can tell you, I read every single comment and today I went out and got every single item I was missing,” she said, showing off a giant plastic container filled with every medicine imaginable.

DiTullio also shows off her daughter's laundry supplies, including a laundry bag full of knick-knacks for laundry day.

“So she has a monogrammed laundry bag and she got it as a graduation gift… We also have the laundry detergent,” she says, before explaining that she's not a Tide Pod fan.

“I just think the liquid smells better. It cleans better. That's what we use. We've been using that at home for years. So she'll use the same thing there,” she explained.

Also included in the laundry bag are stain remover, dryer sheets, shoe cleaning wipes, anti-wrinkle spray, and some fancy Clorox bleach wipes.

After her video went viral, several TikTok users praised the mother for being well prepared, while others offered even more helpful advice.

“This is what nest building for a newborn looks like 18 years later! I'm taking notes myself!” wrote one user.

“YES, THE AMOUNT OF MEDICINE IS SO GOOD!” praised another.

One user advised: “Unpack as many packing boxes as you can before you get there – the dumpsters will be full and it will be difficult to get rid of your trash once you've settled them in.”

Great tip!

“You are such a loving mom. I hope you both make the transition well. Because that certainly didn't happen to me 😅 I wish my mom had brought me so many good things because then my anxiety would have gotten better,” said another.

Some users offered other items that DiTullio might consider, such as a small tool kit, a flashlight and a sewing kit.

This set for a college-aged kid is awesome! It's also OK to just send something to your kid's dorm via Amazon Prime when they text you “XYZ is gone!”
