Lakers encounters with Clippers, Suns and Kings

The 2024-25 NBA season schedule is set to be released on Thursday, but as often happens, some Los Angeles Lakers game details have already leaked out.

As part of the NBA's opening night schedule, the Lakers will host Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Lakers will then travel to face Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day.

The Western Conference is at capacity this season, meaning LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the Lakers will have their hands full, including four matchups with the LA Clippers, who are currently playing in their own arena, the Intuit Dome.

Here are the dates of the Lakers' games against the Clippers according to Brad Turner of the LA Times:

After opening night, it looks like the Lakers will stay home and host division rival Phoenix Suns in their second game, according to Duane Rankin of AzCentral:

Finally, according to Sean Cunningham of Fox, the Lakers’ matches against their division rivals, the Sacramento Kings, were also announced:

With some of these Western Conference teams improving their rosters this season, the pressure will be on new head coach JJ Redick to make the Lakers competitive right from the start.

The Lakers’ schedule for the Emirates NBA Cup group matches has been finalized

Lakers players have a chance to earn more money this season if the team can defend its Emirates NBA Cup title.

When the Lakers won it last year, it was called the In-Season Tournament and paid $500,000 per player. However, the league renamed it the Emirates NBA Cup and LA was placed in a group with the San Antonio Spurs, Suns, Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder, with the group stage schedule now set.
