MTA Bus Driver Job Fair: August 17, 2024




The MTA will host a bus driver job fair on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Bronx High School of Science, 75 W 205 St, Bronx, NY 10468. Transportation: trains.

Applications are being accepted for positions at MTA Bus Company and MaBSTOA.

For same-day processing, please bring the following documents with you:

  • Your social security card
  • Your driving license and proof of commercial driving license or registration:
    • A New York State driver’s license valid for at least three years and a commercial driver’s license or a commercial driver’s permit (Class A or B with passenger transportation certification and no restrictions) or
    • A driver’s license from Connecticut, New Jersey or Pennsylvania valid for at least three years and a commercial driver’s license (Class A or B with passenger transportation approval and no restrictions) or
    • All other state driver's licenses: Driver's license with at least three years of validity and commercial driver's license (Class A or B with passenger vehicle registration and no restrictions) and a physical copy of the current vehicle registration document.

You will not be considered for the position of bus driver if your driving record includes or has included:

  • Six or more points for driver violations in the last three years, regardless of the reduction in points for defensive driving, or
  • Three or more accidents within the 12 months prior to the appointment date

Please resolve any outstanding traffic violations before applying. Open traffic violations will be taken into account in the application process.

If you do not get an appointment on the same day, you will be given a later appointment.

To be hired as a bus driver, you must pass a drug test. If hired, you will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing for the duration of your employment. Please note that the U.S. Department of Transportation's drug testing panel includes marijuana, and you will be tested for marijuana use.
