The Cleveland Cavaliers have released their schedule for the 2024–25 NBA season.

The Cavs are starting the season with their new coach Kenny Atkinson, franchise player Donovan Mitchell has signed a long-term contract and young big man Evan Mobley agreed to a contract extension in July.

So what awaits them in their 82-game NBA schedule? Here are some of the highlights:

When will the Cavaliers play their first home game in 2024-25?

The Cavs will open their home opener on October 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse with a bit of a surprise, as former coach JB Bickerstaff will bring his Detroit Pistons to face his former team. In some circles, Bickerstaff was a surprise addition to the Pistons, and his presence in Motown could certainly make this year's season series with the Pistons interesting.

When does LeBron James play against the Cavs in Cleveland?

Lakers forward LeBron James watches his wife Savannah James watch the Cavaliers and Celtics during the second quarter of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals in Cleveland on May 13, 2024.

LeBron James will be allowed to return home in the fall for an Oct. 30 appearance at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, having just led Team USA to Olympic gold. James won the FIBA Olympic Most Valuable Player award at that tournament and shows little sign of slowing down as he enters his 22nd season.
