Truck driver killed in traffic accident in Adams County

A Smithdale man died in a crash in Adams County on Thursday. The crash was reported around 9:30 a.m. Thursday on Highway 84 near McNeil Road, according to a news release from Sergeant Craig James of the Mississippi Highway Patrol. James said Robert Berryhill III, 49, was driving a 2025 Western Star eastbound on the highway when the truck left the road and crashed into a creek embankment. Berryhill was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is under investigation.

ADAMS COUNTY, Miss —

A Smithdale man died in a car crash in Adams County on Thursday.

According to a press release from Sergeant Craig James of the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the accident was reported around 9:30 a.m. Thursday on Highway 84 near McNeil Road.

James said Robert Berryhill III, 49, was driving a 2025 Western Star eastbound on the highway when the truck left the road and crashed into a creek embankment. Berryhill was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is currently being investigated.
