Police arrest four suspects in connection with the murder of “General Hospital” star Johnny Wactor

Four people were arrested for the murder of Johnny Wactor, the former General Hospital Actor who was shot in May by assailants trying to steal his catalytic converter.

Robert Barceleau, Leonel Gutierrez and Sergio Estrada, all 18, were arrested early Thursday morning on murder charges, the LAPD confirmed in a news release. A fourth person, Frank Olano, 22, was also arrested and charged with accessory after the fact.

The three murder suspects were identified by police after investigators took their fingerprints from a car jack that they used to access the catalytic converter of Wactor's car. Los Angeles Times The trio is being held on $2 million bail, the newspaper confirmed.

Wactor, 37, was gunned down around 3 a.m. on May 25 after finishing his shift at a local bar. He and a co-worker went to his car and found three men trying to steal the catalytic converter.

“As Wactor approached his vehicle, he was confronted by three individuals who had raised Wactor's vehicle with a jack,” the LAPD's original press release said. “Without provocation, the victim was shot by one of the individuals.” The suspects reportedly fled in a black 2018 Infiniti Q50.

Wactor's murder remained unsolved for months. Less than two weeks ago, police released photos of the suspects in the hope that the public could help identify them.

On Tuesday, friends and family of the General Hospital actor held a press conference asking the public for help in solving the case. “I'm asking anyone who knows anything to come forward,” Wactor's mother Scarlett said, according to the Associated Press. “It will help me and his brothers heal knowing they were caught and convicted.”

“I want to thank the LAPD for their partnership and hard work on this case and for their continued efforts to keep Los Angeles residents safe and bring justice to victims of violence,” Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said in a statement Thursday. “Now we must ensure that those responsible for this brazen and heinous act are held fully accountable.”
