Usher postpones remaining concert dates in Atlanta in August due to neck injury

Atlanta R&B singer Usher suffered a neck injury during rehearsals earlier this week and had to postpone three dates at the State Farm Arena until December.

He postponed the opening date of his Past Present Future tour on Wednesday, just hours before the concert was scheduled to begin. He had scheduled two more dates for Friday, August 16, and Saturday, August 17.

These three dates will be rescheduled to December 9, 10 and 12 in the same order they were scheduled for this month.

Refunds are available through Ticketmaster, but tickets for the August dates remain valid.

In a statement, Usher said doctors have advised him to rest and recover this week. Instead, he plans to begin his tour with a scheduled concert on August 20 in Washington, DC, on the advice of his doctors.

“I love my fans and thank them for understanding that I need to recover from this injury so that I can give them the 100 percent peak performance they expect from an Usher show and that I will be on stage in their city very soon,” said Usher, 45.
