Harris campaign job seekers have 9 different pronoun options: “More pronouns than politics”

On Vice President Kamala Harris' website, job seekers can choose between nine different pronoun options when applying for a position on her campaign team. Some social media users therefore criticized the Democrat for having “more pronouns than political views.”

Applicants can choose between the more common pronouns “he/him,” “she/her,” and “they/them,” or opt for less conventional gender-neutral options, including “xe/xem,” “ze/hir,” “ey/em,” and “hir/hir.”

Other options include “Hu/hu,” which indicates that a person chooses to prioritize their humanity over their gender, and “Fae/faer,” which indicates that a person is fluid between multiple genders, but not male.

Potential applicants can also provide “custom” pronouns when filling out an application on the Harris campaign's job portal, or choose to enter only the name.

Job seekers are also asked how they would “contribute to building a diverse culture” and have the opportunity to take a diversity survey at the end of the application that asks, among other things, “Do you identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community?”

The long list of pronoun options confused many social media users, with many saying they had never heard of most of them.

Some also pointed out that the list was longer than the “politics” section of the Harris campaign website.

“Kamala Harris' website has more pronouns (9) than political views (0),” wrote one, while another fumed, “#KamalaHarris care more about her PRONOUNS than our economy or our southern border.”

Harris, 59, has championed diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and so-called “woke” social justice initiatives throughout her political career, raising concerns among some conservatives that she might pursue such domestic policies as president.

“We have to stay awake. Everyone has to be awake,” Harris said during a conference in 2017.

In the clip, which recently went viral, Harris adds: “And you can talk about whether you're the wokest or the woker, but just stay woker than less woker.”

Former President Donald Trump, 78, has branded her a “radical California liberal” since she entered the race after President Biden, 81, abandoned his bid for re-election last month.
