Plymouth man accused of killing his father faces trial – Boston 25 News

The son of a man found stabbed to death in a Plymouth home on Thursday morning will face a judge on Friday.

Matthew Paluzzi, 26, was arrested shortly before 11 a.m. in the area of 198 Columbia Road in Hanover after a manhunt that encompassed several South Shore communities, according to Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz. On Thursday afternoon, the Plymouth District Attorney announced that Paluzzi had been formally charged with the murder of his father, 76-year-old Anthony Paluzzi.

Massachusetts State Police shared video from the Air Wing showing the pursuit of Paluzzi's vehicle before he was eventually stopped and surrounded by authorities in Hanover.

Paluzzi was dragged out of his Nissan Murano and handcuffed in the middle of the street.

According to Cruz, officers responded to a home at 15 Cedar Street in the coastal town of Manomet around 6:30 a.m. after receiving a 911 call from a woman who reported finding her husband unconscious and bleeding from a laceration on his neck.

Anthony Paluzzi was pronounced dead at home. Cruz said preliminary examinations showed he died from a stab wound to the neck.

Lisa Caola has lived across the street from the Paluzzi family for about 20 years. She said Matthew, the youngest of four boys, always played with her children.

“He was a nice little boy,” she said. “After high school, he worked at Benny's (a supermarket) and after that, it seemed like, you know, bad decisions.”

Cruz says Paluzzi is known to Plymouth police.

This is a developing story. Check back later for updates as more information becomes available.
