Two men charged in shooting death of 7-year-old boy at Stark County motel

CANTON, Ohio (WOIO) – Two of the three suspects charged in the shooting death of a 7-year-old boy at a Stark County motel in June will appear in court Friday morning for their arraignments.

The little boy was in a room at the Knights Inn Motel in Plain Township on June 21 when he was shot around 1 a.m.

His father, 33-year-old William Dolch, was charged Wednesday with involuntary manslaughter, child endangerment, tampering with evidence and possession of a weapon despite unlawful negligence.

Joseph King, 33, was charged with tampering with evidence. According to officials, King “knowingly tampered with the firearm that killed the 7-year-old.”

Dolch's girlfriend, 29-year-old Brittany Franko, was charged with obstruction of justice after previously saying she tried to help him cover up the crime. She will go on trial on September 6.
