Two arrests in connection with triple shooting in Hazelwood Terrace

Rochester, NY (WHAM) — Rochester police have arrested two suspects in connection with Monday's triple shooting and subsequent murder in Hazelwood Terrace.

The RPD's SWAT team and tactical unit executed several search warrants Thursday evening. Both suspects were arrested at a home on Edmonds Street, where police found more than 150 packages of crack cocaine.

According to police, one of the two injured teenagers was the intended target of the shooting, but 19-year-old Rukia Isaack was struck and killed by a stray bullet as she walked along the sidewalk at the corner of Hazelwood Terrace and Denver Street.

Investigators from the Major Crimes Unit believe that one of the two male teenagers was the actual target of the shooting.

The suspects, Nasezire Horton, 21, and Quentin Riviere, 21, were charged with second-degree murder, assault and illegal possession of a controlled substance.

A third suspect, 38-year-old Reynaldo Napier, who police said was in the Edmonds Street apartment during the search, is also charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance.

Both suspects have numerous prior convictions. Horton was paroled in March for assault, while Riviere is on parole for burglary. Both have prior convictions for illegal possession of weapons. Horton, who was convicted of assault in a correctional facility, has had his parole revoked several times.

Horton's probation officers arrested him on July 24 for allegedly driving a stolen moped. Horton was charged with illegal possession of stolen property and probation violation. He was jailed and released from custody following his hearing in Monroe County District Court.

Investigators believe that both Horton and Riviere were involved in other shootings in the city of Rochester.

Horton, Riviere and Napier will be arraigned in Rochester Municipal Court at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
